Altered Plans was Han's first solo show, and was launched from inside his Detroit apartment as a response to six months of unemployment.

Unauthorized Installation at Shinola Hotel

On the last day of the Altered Plans exhibition, Han installed two paintings without permission at the Shinola Hotel. The blueprints were found in this building 8 years prior to the artwork being made, and were returned to the place from which they came.
The hotel was given an ultimatum, preserve the work and celebrate their rebirth to mirror the story of the building, or destroy them as they were found in the building, abandoned and left as garbage.
