Normally, I avoid these things like the plague, but I am new to the west side and LA in general, and have been making efforts to connect with people in Venice and Santa Monica to become part of a community. My four-legged creature and I are blessed to live in Santa Monica, just a short walk from the Pacific Ocean. This patch of Palisades Park has become our front yard. I’ve been staring at this painting on the wall in front of me for months now, and today I realized something new about myself. I am this painting. In an abstract way, my paintings have always been self portraits.
